Plenty workshops

Plenty at the Square - a creative vegetarian café based at South Square Community Arts Centre in Thornton - are running a weekly programme of fun workshops and events at Darley Street Market. These workshops will teach a variety of techniques to prevent food waste through preserving, pickling, drying using the whole vegetable.

These workshops are themed around sustainable food and waste prevention where participants will:
Learn about new and exciting ways to preserve fruit and veg that might otherwise be wasted
Use the “whole” fruit and veg in a variety of inventive recipes to avoid waste, save money and create healthy dishes
Learn about sustainable and seasonal cooking and food

These workshops are free to attend but places are limited to 6, so booking is essential. The workshop will take place outside the Wellnest, which can be found on the Fresh Food Floor of Darley Street Market overlooking the Courtyard.

Friday 10 October 2025
In this workshop you will explore a range of sweet and savoury pickles and fruit vinegars using seasonal produce This will include the ever popular Bread and Butter pickles, sweet pickled fruit, pickled beetroot etc.
