South North Nexus (SNN) was founded in 2020 by passionate individuals committed to advancing social justice, addressing risks caused by climate change, and empowering women around the world. We support future-focused development in some of the world’s driest and most remote regions where both climate change and hunger are leading to increased conflicts, displacement and political instability.
SNN’s success is born out of the willingness to listen and learn from local people, and then support them in taking action to combat vulnerability and build more resilient lives. We empower communities to access clean water, grow healthy and reliable foods, build businesses, and cope with rising stresses and injustices. In Montana, we support immigrant families by providing legal advocacy and resettlement support to those whose arrival in the Rocky Mountain West is often precipitated by climate change and political unrest. SNN is based in Bozeman and advances its work with trusted partners in Kenya, Colombia, Mexico and Montana.
