Loving King and Kingdom
What does it mean to seek first Christβs kingdom in a divided and distracted age? How should citizens of heaven live as exiles on earth? Join us for a weekend of extended teaching as we consider the priority, character, politics, and hope of the kingdom of God.
Our Conference
Each Spring we invite a notable theologian or pastor from our tradition to share with us about a Biblical topic in which they are interested and have studied. Our conference incorporates a sweet blend of singing, praying, eating and receiving the Word of God taught by our year's speaker. All scheduled meals are already incorporated into the cost of admission.
Past Speakers include: Michael Horton, Mark Futado, Robert Godfrey, Bryan Chappell, and Jonny Gibson.
Our Speaker: Rev Kevin Smith
Rev. Kevin Smith is a native of West Philadelphia. He attended Penn State and graduated from Temple University. Before entering pastoral ministry, Kevin worked in psychiatric hospitals. He later interned at Tenth Presbyterian Church and studied at Westminster Seminary. After moving to Washington, D.C., he earned a Master of Theological Studies from Chesapeake Seminary.
Kevin and his wife, Sandra, have four daughters. Together they planted Mount Zion Church in Bowie, Maryland. He later pastored in Miami, Florida, before being called to serve as Senior Pastor of New City Fellowship in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Kevin has long been engaged in urban and cross-cultural ministry and served as Chair of the PCAβs Study Committee on Racial Reconciliation. He also sits on the Board of Trustees of Covenant College and frequently speaks and teaches within the broader PCA.
