- **Event Description**: DAR State Regent Liz Deering will explore how colonists gathered beneath Liberty Trees in pre-Revolutionary America to voice grievances against British rule and organize resistance efforts.
Under the Deering Administration, and in partnership with the Maryland State Forest Service, 13 seedling trees grown from the original Liberty Tree in Annapolis have been secured. These rare seedlings are direct descendants—genetically identical to the historic tree—and serve as living symbols of America’s Revolutionary heritage.

Only 197 of these trees are available nationwide, and MSSDAR successfully obtained 13 for the Our Legacy of Liberty project. By 2027, the trees will be planted across Maryland to honor and commemorate our patriot ancestors.
