Spring Equinox Slow Flow + Sound Bath

Join Nectar Retreat Centre’s creatrix, Andrea, in celebrating the Spring Equinox—a sacred day that honours our relationship with the Earth and Sun, symbolizing balance between light and dark, marking the transition into the warmer seasons. Gather in Nectar's geodesic dome to explore themes of creativity, flow, renewal, and release through movement and vibration. Starting with an opening circle, Andrea will then lead a 60-minute Slow Flow, all-levels yoga and functional movement class, followed by a soothing crystal bowl sound bath, where the sound bowls produce binaural beats, inducing brain waves associated with deep relaxation and meditative states. We’ll then conclude with a guided silent relaxation period and gratitude circle.

ABOUT SOUND BATHS
Just as a typical bath involves immersing oneself in water, a sound bath aims to envelop a person in the medium of sound. Typically featuring singing bowls made of metal or crystal, these instruments create resonant tones, similar to bells, when struck by a practitioner. Sound baths provide an immersive experience, filling the entire room and penetrating the bodies within the space with sound waves. These beneficial sound vibrations traverse the entire body; the resonance activates theta, alpha, and gamma brain waves, associated with relaxation, enhanced moods, and well-being of the mind, body, and spirit.
