Are you ready to push your limits across five brutal events, battle against the region’s toughest athletes, and fight for the crown (yes a literal crown) of King and Queen of the South?
This is your chance to make history – only one can take the title. Will it be you?

Competition entry is £45, which includes a comp t-shirt, paid via Paypal FRIENDS AND FAMILY to https://www.paypal.me/Teamfortis 

Spectators: £3 pre-order | £5 on the door

Place not secured until payment received. Any payments received not via F&F will be refunded and place not confirmed.

When sending payment please include Name, Category entered and T-shirt size. No refunds for withdrawal and no name changes.

Prizes and trophies for top 3 in each category, The prestigious King and Queen of the South Crown for the winners of the Men’s opens and Women’s Inters categories.

 

Registration at 9AM with athlete brief at 9.30AM and first event start at 10:00AM. 

 

Must be first comp to qualify as beginner status

 

The events will run as:- (all weights and events subject to change)

 

Event 1 – “Heartbreaker Pull”

Lift till your heart skips a beat. Reps mean romance… or regret.

Axle Deadlift for reps - 60sec time limit.

Deadlift for reps - Any bounced or touch and go reps will be disallowed. Any hitching etc is fine we just want a good solid lockout. Straps, chalk, suits allowed, no oil

Beginners Women – 90kg

Novice Women – 110kg 

Inters Women – 130kg

Beginners Men – 140kg 

Novice Men – 160kg 

Inters Men – 200kg 

Opens Men – 250kg 

 

Event 2 – “Arrow of Love”

Cupid’s arrow never misses — but can your lockout say the same?

Log Press- Max weight  

Athletes will have 3 nominated lifts, weight can be nominated following previous attempt, must wait for down command for rep to count. Sleeves, wrist wraps, grip tops allowed.

Minimum opener:

Beginners Women – 30kg

Novice Women – 40kg 

Inters Women – 50kg

Beginners Men – 50kg 

Novice Men – 60kg 

Inters Men – 80kg 

Opens Men – 95kg 

 

 Event 3 “Runaway Fiancé”

Pick it up and go! Don’t trip before the altar.

Husafell carry for distance – 75 sec time limit

Bag to be lifted from a Keg and carried max distance over a 20m course, foot must cross the line. Sleeves, wraps belts, chalk allowed. No straps, grip tops, power briefs, tacky of any kind or liquid chalk.  

Beginners Women – 40kg

Novice Women – 60kg 

Inters Women – 80kg

Beginners Men – 80kg 

Novice Men – 80kg 

Inters Men – 100kg 

Opens Men – 120kg 

 

Event 4 – “Lover’s Lift”

Nothing says commitment like hoisting your heavy baggage.

Sandbag to Shoulder – 60 sec time limit

As many reps as possible, choice of 3 bags, points increase the heavier the bag. Event starts with the sandbag upright and athletes hand off. Athlete must show control over the sandbag with it wholly on the shoulder and one hand away. Wait for the down command to be given the rep.

No tacky of any kind, no liquid chalk, wraps, grip shirts and chalk allowed

Beginners Women – 40kg -1pt, 50kg -2pts, 60kg -10pts

Novice Women – 50kg -1pt, 60kg -2pts, 70kg -10pts

Inters Women – 60kg -1pt, 70kg -2pts, 85kg -10pts

Beginners Men – 70kg -1pt, 85kg -2pts, 100kg -10pts 

Novice Men – 85kg -1pt, 100kg -2pts, 120kg -10pts 

Inters Men – 100kg -1pt, 120kg -2pts, 130kg -10pts

Opens Men – 120kg -1pt, 130kg -2pts, 160kg -10pts 

 

Event 5 – “Love Lockdown”

Grip tight, don’t let go — just like your ex should’ve.

Hercules Hold

As long a hold as possible. Athlete stands between pillars, holding handles attached by chains. Time starts when both pillars are released. Athlete must remain upright and stationary throughout. Time stops when either hand releases a handle. Grip shirts, chalk, and wraps allowed. No tacky or liquid chalk permitted.

Beginners Women – 35kg

Novice Women – 45kg

Inters Women – 55kg

Beginners Men – 55kg

Novice Men – 60kg

Inters Men – 70kg

Opens Men – 80kg
