Presented By: Dr. Vijay Pabbathi, Senior Lecturer in Anatomy & Physiology

The workshop is open to healthcare professionals, educators, wellness practitioners, and students with an interest in evidence-based yoga and meditation.

No prior yoga or meditation experience is required – practices are taught step-by-step in a safe, non-religious framework.

Participants are advised to bring or have access to:

  • Yoga mat – non-slip, for safe practice of postures and breathwork.
  • Comfortable clothing – loose/stretchable attire to allow free movement.
  • Water bottle – to stay hydrated during breaks.
  • Notebook & pen – for reflections, notes, and personal routine planning.

Yoga is identified as an evidence-informed practice that can complement modern health systems (WHO, Traditional Medicine Strategy, 2014–2023).

Our 2-day program combines evidence-based therapeutic yoga with pulse-guided meditation to equip healthcare professionals with practical skills they can apply both personally and in clinical practice. The program focuses on safe, non-religious practices that enhance mobility, stress regulation, cardiovascular health, and emotional resilience, with clear clinical and community applications.

Day 1 builds a foundation in body–mind connection through gentle yoga methods such as Kapalabhati, Dynamic Bhastrika, and an introduction to pulse-guided meditation. Evidence discussions, Body Physiology, case studies, and interactive Q&A connect theory to practice.

Day 2 deepens skills with advanced yoga routines, applied meditation methods, and personal routine planning. Participants design practical strategies for integrating yoga and meditation into daily life and patient care. Key features include:

1. Therapeutic emphasis on musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation, and stress reduction.

2. Evidence-informed framework supported by peer-reviewed studies.

3. Interactive learning with group reflection, case discussions, and networking.

4. Balanced approach combining Yoga methods and modern science.

Seminar Aims

  • To introduce evidence-based therapeutic yoga and meditation practices for personal well-being and clinical application.
  • To demonstrate how non-religious, safe, and adaptable techniques can support healthcare and rehabilitation.
  • To bridge traditional yogic wisdom with modern scientific validation for healthcare professionals.

Objectives

  • Provide practical training in Yoga techniques such as Kapalabhati, Dynamic Bhastrika and Savasana methods.
  • Introduce and practice pulse-guided meditation as a science-based, mindfulness technique.
  • Explore current scientific evidence and case studies on yoga methods in healthcare.
  • Facilitate group discussion, reflection, and networking to share clinical applications.
  • Enable participants to design personalised daily routines integrating yoga and meditation.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the scientific evidence supporting therapeutic yoga and meditation.
  • Demonstrate safe practice of Kapalabhati and Dynamic Bhastrika breathing techniques.
  • Develop understanding of the physiological basis of Yoga methods
  • Apply pulse-guided meditation to enhance mental clarity, stress regulation, and resilience.
  • Adapt yoga and meditation methods for patients with musculoskeletal, stress-related, or lifestyle conditions.
  • Develop a sustainable personal and professional wellness plan.
  • Confidently integrate these practices into clinical, educational, or community settings.
