Using umbrellas to create a visual barrier, we guide families past harmful messages from groups like Proud Boys, Patriot Front Blood Tribe, GAG and Westboro Baptist Church. For the youngest, we provide noise-canceling ear protection to block the hateful slurs often yelled through bullhorns. Our mission is to ensure that children can walk through their communities with dignity, protected from the hate that seeks to harm them.

On Saturday, November 21st, 2026, The Parasol Patrol will be at Boulder Public Library Canyon Theater ready to shield children from potential protesters. Our hope is that no protesters attend and that we can simply welcome children and families with smiles and gratitude.

It's crucial for Parasol Patrol volunteers to remember that we are not a counter-protest group. We don’t engage with protesters. While we may be present because of their actions, we are there for the kids, and that is where we focus our energy.

Volunteer guidelines will be posted in the comments. We deeply appreciate your support of Parasol Patrol. Our mission isn’t about influencing identities—it’s about ensuring that all children, especially BIPOC and Queer youth, know they are loved and supported by their entire community, not *in spite* of who they are, but *because* of who they are."
