About the event

Fireside Fly Fishing Lab
A cozy fireside chat on fly fishing essentials, reading water, and how professional guides approach Colorado rivers.

About this Event

Join us for a cozy fireside chat about fly fishing essentials, local waters, and how guides approach the craft — perfect for anglers, nature lovers, and the fly-curious alike.
YOUR TICKET INCLUDES ONE DRINK FROM AJAX TAVERN IN LIMELIGHT BOULDER

Fly fishing is equal parts skill, strategy, and connection to place — and learning how professional guides think about water, gear, and technique can deepen every day you spend on the river.

Join Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides at Limelight Boulder for a relaxed, fireside conversation focused on fly fishing in Colorado. This free, in-person event is designed for both new and experienced anglers looking to build confidence, refine their approach, and better understand how guides read rivers and adapt to changing conditions.

Every attendee will receive a discount to Limelight’s signature bar and grill, plus exclusive discounts on guided fly fishing trips and educational programs with Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides.

Through real-world stories and open discussion, our fly fishing guides will share how they think about gear selection, reading water, seasonal considerations, and ethical angling practices — with plenty of space for questions and conversation.

What We’ll Cover
  • How guides approach fly fishing in Colorado’s rivers and streams
  • Essential fly fishing gear and how to choose the right setup
  • Reading water: where fish hold and why
  • Seasonal considerations and adapting to changing conditions
  • Common beginner mistakes — and how to avoid them
  • How guided trips differ from solo days on the water

Who Should Attend
  • First-time or curious fly fishers
  • Anglers looking to improve technique and understanding
  • Outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning a new skill
  • Anyone curious how professional fly fishing guides think about rivers and fish

No prior fly fishing experience required. This is an educational, conversational event — not a gear demo or sales pitch.
