Come celebrate Colorado Gives Day at Roots Music Project with an evening of incredible local music and community connection! This free "blowout" showcase features performances from our Spring and Fall TEMPO youth program participants, sharing the stage with three amazing community-minded bands: I.O Underground, Last Mile Country Club, and the core trio of Better Hallway Vision.
TEMPO (Training Emerging Musicians for Professional Opportunities) is Roots Music Project's youth music industry immersion program, giving teens real-world experience on stage and behind the scenes. This special night is a chance to cheer them on, enjoy top-notch local bands, and feel the energy of Boulder's grassroots music community all under one roof.
6:15 PM - Born N Raised Leo and Matteo, two 17-year-old TEMPO participants, kick off the night as Born N Raised—a guitar duo blending folk, country, rock, grunge, and pop into a sound that's uniquely theirs. With both on guitar and Leo also on piano, they bring raw energy, emotion, and versatility to everything they play. Just two guys making music from the heart—raised on sound, born to create.
6:40 PM - Izzy (TEMPO) A special performance by talented TEMPO student Izzy, showcasing the incredible work happening in our music education programs.
7:20 PM - IO Underground Modern rock meets Boulder spirit. From playing NYC clubs to starting fresh in Colorado, frontman Grayson found the perfect musical partner in Casey Kannenberg. Together with their dynamic drummer, IO Underground delivers fresh songwriting with face-melting guitar solos—proof that sometimes the best music comes from starting over.
7:55 PM - Better Hallway Vision Trio High-energy rock and roll from a Boulder-based band built by friends to play for friends, especially those they haven't met yet! Featuring Ryan Moriarty on keyboards and vocals, Fritz Moriarty on guitar and vocals, Bill Mark on bass, Matt Niemann on drums, and Ian Jacobson on guitar and vocals—BHV brings the heat to venues across Colorado.
8:30 PM - Last Mile Country Club Close out the night with Rocky Mountain Honky Tonk as channeled through the vibe of microbreweries, food trucks, and friendly dogs. Formed in 2023 by Boulder County musicians, this project brings originals and covers inspired by Alt Country, Indie Americana, and straight-ahead bluegrass. You may see hula hoops. You may see a conga line. You may see a fruity sour in a tulip glass.
Admission is FREE—so bring your friends, soak up the music, and if you're able, consider making a Colorado Gives donation to support your favorite local nonprofit music venue, Roots Music Project. Your gift helps us keep music accessible, support emerging artists, and build a vibrant, inclusive scene right here at home.
