The Friends of the Library are having a Cookie Baking Party on November 15th starting at 1:30pm in the Community Center. What is the Cookie Baking Party? It’s a chance for a variety of helpers to make holiday themed cookies to sell at the Cookie Walk on November 28th during the town’s Christmas Walk. We’ll have music playing and hope to have a fun and festive time together!
It’s also a way for more people to get involved! Maybe you like to bake cookies but don’t like to decorate. Maybe you are the opposite and could decorate all day but don’t want to go near an oven. Prefer to make a mess in the Community kitchen instead of your own? Everyone is welcome to come!
You can also help by donating items ahead of time (please have them to the library by 1pm on the 15th if you are not joining the bake day). Here’s a list of the types of things needed:
Supplies:
*Cookie Press (Spritz dough)
*Holiday Cookie Cutters
*Holiday Cookie Stamps
*Rolling Pins, regular or decorative
*Baking sheets
*Parchment paper
*Cooling racks
Ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla
Premade dough( (homemade and pre-chilled if recipe requires, please include baking directions for temperature and time):
*Cut out sugar cookies
*Cut out gingerbread cookies
*Spritz dough (cookie press)
*Slice and bake refrigerator cookies
Decorations:
*Buttercream Icing
*Royal icing (requires bags and tips)
*Colored sugars and sprinkles
Candies:
Premade and pre-chilled to be ready to shape or roll (peanut butter balls, Oreo truffles, etc)
Dipping chocolate (milk, dark, almond bark)
Volunteers Needed:
Cookie preppers
Cookie bakers
Candy makers
Cookie decorators
Clean Up crew
