- **Event Description**: Join us in welcoming back author Melissa Faliveno for her debut novel, Hemlock!

Melissa Faliveno holds a BA from UW-Madison and an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She has taught creative writing at several universities, to high school students, to incarcerated men, and to adults in and around New York City, and currently is the Margaret R. Shuping Fellow and assistant profession of creative writing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her essay collection, Tomboyland, was named a Best Book of 2020 by NPR, the New York Public Library, Oprah Magazine, Electric Literature, and Debutiful as well as a 2021 Award for Outstanding Literary Achievement from the Wisconsin Library Association. Her debut novel, Hemlock, is inspired by her time in Boulder Junction and the surrounding area.
