Lake Metigoshe State Park is excited to host this camp, getting youth ages 9-12 outdoors over winter break.
Registration opens on Wednesday, November 26 at 9am via
https://bit.ly/LMSPShowClix. The cost for this camp is $40/participant; participants must be the described age at the time of camp (9-12 year olds). Participation is limited so it is highly suggestion to register promptly when registration opens.
This camp will start at 9am and include a variety of hands-on, engaging activities related winter adaptations and outdoor recreation. Campers will learn the basics, build confidence and develop problem-solving skills related to survival skills - fire starting, finding food & water, orienteering and shelter building through hands-on activities and scenarios. We’ll go outdoors to not only test those skills, but also provide the opportunity for participants to get out along the trails and shorelines to try snowshoes, kicksleds and/or skishoes!
The day will conclude with some time exploring the trails near the Warming House, which is where participants should be picked up at 4pm.
We plan to spend roughly half of the day outdoors. To maximize their participation level and comfort, participants need to wear winter coat, snow pants, gloves/mittens, beanie/hat, scarf and warm footwear. Snacks/lunch will be provided.
Those interested in being added to the LMSP day camp email list are invited to send a request to

We look forward to making memories with our day campers along the trails and shorelines this winter at Lake Metigoshe State Park!
