Lake Metigoshe State Park is excited to host this camp as part of our summer series of Day Camps, which focus on environmental education and outdoor recreational skills. We are thrilled to be collaborating with our friends at Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB).
Discover the exciting world of drones in this hands-on summer camp experience! Students will develop their piloting skills through guided flight practice and flight games, while learning essential safety protocols and FAA regulations for responsible drone operation. The program includes preparation for the Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) certification, enabling participants to legally fly drones for fun. Beyond the basics, campers will explore how drones are revolutionizing various industries and explore basic care and maintenance of your drone. Join the certified drone pilots from Dakota College at Bottineau and take your fun to new heights this summer!
Afterwards, we'll introduce participants to mtn biking! We'll talk about how to explore the park's trails safely and with confidence as we pedal the park. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets, but the park does offer a limited supply for those that would like to take in this great opportunity!
A snack and picnic lunch will be provided; participants can pack their own lunch, if desired.
We'll plan to conclude the day at the LMSP beach.
All participants should wear good footwear (closed toe shoes) and bring a water bottle, swimwear and a beach towel. Participants should also wear and/or bring bug spray and sunscreen.
