READY FOR ANOTHER MAGICAL MEMORABLE MOMENT MAKER??? Guitars for Kids Rising Stars (501c3) is seeking support from our local community to join with Paul Wane and DCL / Duval County Line for our eleventh unique family-focused event as we make Dreams a Reality during our 5th Annual Rockin for Stockins at Boogerville Hideout on Sunday, December 7th, 12-6pm.
Our mission is to provide every individual who has a desire to create music quality instruments to inspire creativity and build unity across generations. Over the years, we have Gifted more than 400 instruments, while bringing Joy to a countless number of Souls.
We envision communities united by the magic of music, where individuals are provided platforms that showcase their talents and bring their dreams to a reality. Twice a year, we invite our Rising Stars to return to showcase their talent by providing an opportunity to perform Live, center stage as a solo act, a band or with fellow musicians for an authentic experience.
Five years ago, while creating our first event, we discovered a missed population within our own community. Families with Adult Children diagnosed with Autism, FAS, Down Syndrome, TBI and other unique challenges are struggling to fulfill the simplest of wishes...a Visit with Santa and a gift or two.
Did you know when individuals turn 12-18 chronologically, they are NO LONGER ELIGIBLE for Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc? At 21 "the system” abandons many of them and if they live with family, once 27, the system abandons the family. So, if you're a single parent, a retiree or a special human who cares for an individual who is 40, yet thinks they're 7, what are you do? Join us.
What do we do? During our 5th Annual Rockin for Stockins, hosted at Boogerville Hideout Bar on Sunday, December 7th, we will provide an opportunity for EVERYONE who Believes in Magic to visit with Santa Claus, the Misses and an Elf or two who will be handing out presents! Additionally, the first 250 guests will receive a free Rockin for Stockins Giveaway Bag filled with lots of goodies including a custom event T-shirt. Plus Santa's Workshop will be on-site to create unique keepsakes!!! We're planning to have a Bounce House, Face Painting, Slingshots and much more for an afternoon filled with Magical Memorable Moments. Did I mention that all the children fed for free too?
In addition, we have over a dozen complete new or refurbished instrument kits to Gift to youth, adults with unique challenges, or Veterans within our community. GUITARS FOR KIDS ALWAYS SEEKING RECIPIENTS TO BECOME A RISING STARS FOR LIFE!!!
Our Rising Stars will be returning to showcase their talents by performing center stage as solo acts, bands, and to jam with Paul Wane or other local musicians. Currently we have confirmed a DOZEN Stars who are ready to Shine Shine Shine!!!
What can you do? Sponsors, Donors and Volunteers help us meet this critical need in our community. Your generous financial support helps cover the costs of activities, giveaways (i.e. complete instrument packages, youth t-shirts, toy instruments, and gadgets and gizmos) while helping Santa out with the staff shortage happening at the North Pole!!
Individual/Group/Business Sponsorship includes placement on backside of 250 limited custom event T-shirts with additional benefits to be determined by level of sponsorship. This year were raising the levels a bit to garner more support for our Rising Stars and their families: Platinum: $2500; Gold: $1000; Silver: $500 and Bronze: $250. Of course, if you’re feeling very generous and want to give more, we promise to use your contributions for the betterment of our community. We're well on our way to gathering approximately 500 inexpensive presents ($5-10 max), 250 toy ukuleles and harmonicas, and all kinds of gadgets and gizmos for repurposed t-shirt bags. Donations of musical equipment, raffle items and giveaways are very much appreciated also.
Futhermore, we're hoping youth/senior/uniquely challenged entrepreneurs willl take advantage of free vendor spots to sell their wares and plan activities at their own booths.
Volunteers, especially folks who have no problem redirecting children, are needed to help with a long list of activities.
