Directed by Haifaa al-Mansour, the film follows Wadjda as she enters a Quran recitation competition to win the prize money, showcasing her determination and challenging traditional gender norms in Saudi Arabia. It was the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabi and the first feature-length film made by a female Saudi director, and has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.
