Laurie is a seasoned educator, teaching jewelry-making classes, workshops, private lessons, and corporate retreats for novice and experienced metalsmiths alike. She also handcrafts original and custom jewelry for her business, Beryllina, using only recycled sterling silver, gold, and platinum, and ethically-mined American gemstones. Laurie creates pieces that showcase the natural beauty of the stones, including crystals that she digs from the earth herself.Class DescriptionIn this 2-meeting class, learn silversmithing and stone setting skills while making a sterling silver ring with a faceted gemstone! You’ll set a sparkling 5mm cubic zirconia on a silver ring you create with a tube setting, which is a type of bezel setting for a faceted gemstone.Please plan on attending both nights of this class – if you miss one you will not be able to complete your ring!If you're interested in using the Artisans Asylum Jewelry Shop on your own as a member, you will need to take our separate Jewelry 101 class.Material FeeThe materials fee for this class is $60. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class.
