This house of worship is the longest continuously operating mosque in the City of Boston.  The mosque established a school called Al Azhar from 1980-1983. The mosque saw the need to expand with the rise of new Muslim immigrants and new converts and the need for a K-12 Islamic School.  In 1984 The Mosque For The Praising of Allah initiated the efforts to build The Jamia Mosque and Educational Center, which is currently known as ISBCC, Islamic Society Of Boston Cultural Center. In 1990 all the Masjids were praying Eid Prayer separately, and The Mosque For The Praising of Allah established the first unified Eid Prayer in Boston. In 1995 The Mosque for the Praising of Allah establishes IMSO, Islamic Multi-Service  Organization Inc. The Masjid is located in an area that has traditionally been populated by a community with a high rate of people living below the poverty line. In an effort to help alleviate this over the years IMSO has organized several programs and services. The boy mentoring program, youth field trips, family & mental health counseling, giving housing and employment referrals. IMSO also has a monthly food pantry and gives food to its neighbors and the general community. The Mosque also houses Mas Quran weekend school, a weekend playgroup for infants to age 6 years, Monthly Community Potlucks, Black History Month Events, Janazah Classes with a community burial fund.
