- **Event Description**: On Friday, September 4th from 6pm-9pm, Middle Way Art House is hosting a workshop on Visible Mending Using SashikoAbout this EventFriday, September 4th from 6pm-9pmJoin us for a Visible Mending Using Sashiko Workshop taught by resident artist and art teacher, Avanji Vaze! is an embroidery technique that arose from of Japan during the Edo period (1603 - 1867), a time of increasing class division. Decreased access to cloth and clothing for the working class, necessitated new methods for patching together and repairing clothing. And so, sashiko was born.Sewing needles and thread will be provided (Participants are encouraged to bring their own if accessible) .Everyone is welcome no matter your experience level. We hope you can join us for the first workshop hosted by Middle Way Art House!
