In this accessible introduction to epistemology, Mr. Priten Soundar-Shah will guide us through the core debates about knowledge and belief. What counts as genuine knowledge? How is it different from mere opinion or belief? And how much can we really claim to know about the world, ourselves, and others? Over the course of an hour, we’ll encounter classic arguments from thinkers like Hume and Descartes, as well as perspectives from Buddhist philosophy, all challenging our assumptions about certainty, doubt, and the limits of human understanding. Priten Soundar-Shah is an educator, philosopher, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of technology and humanistic values in education. He is the author of the forthcoming book Ethical Ed Tech (Wiley, 2026) and a visiting associate in the Department of Philosophy at Harvard University.
