Hands On: Gelato

It’s time to get your hands messy! In our hands-on format, you’ll be diving right in and making our dish with ingredients prepared by our Eataly kitchens. You will then get to enjoy the dish made in advance by our Scuola Chef, and you can take your culinary creation home with you!

Discover the art of making authentic Italian gelato! In this class, you’ll learn how to prepare this beloved frozen dessert from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our Scuola Chef will guide you through the process of creating the perfect custard base, churning it to achieve the signature creamy texture, and exploring flavor variations—from classic vanilla and chocolate to seasonal specialties. You’ll see firsthand what sets Italian gelato apart from traditional ice cream and gain tips to recreate it at home.

In this Hands-On Class You Will:

• Learn about the traditions and culture of Italian gelato
• Observe as our Scuola Chef demonstrates how to make gelato from scratch
• Make your own gelato by hand and take home your delicious creation

Please Note:

• One ticket purchase is valid for one guest
• Seating is first-come, first-served
• Class duration is approximate and may vary by 10-15 minutes
• All guests planning to consume alcohol must be able to produce a valid government-issued identification to prove they are 21 or older. Non-alcoholic beverages are available.
• Classes are also suitable for children 8+ who are passionate about Italian cuisine. Under 15 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
• Please notify us 48 hours in advance if you have any dietary restrictions. If we are not notified ahead of time of any special needs, we may not be able to accommodate them.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full payment is required at the time of booking, and all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for classes or events.

If you're booking for a group of 5–10 guests, you must give us at least 7 days’ notice (not including the day of the class) to receive a credit in the form of a coupon for a future La Scuola class or event.

For groups of 1–4 guests, a minimum of 4 days’ notice is required (again, not including the class day) to receive a credit for a future class or event.

We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel any class due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather. If that happens, we will contact you using the email or phone number you provided and offer either a full refund or a credit for a future class.

Please note that we cannot offer credits, transfers, or refunds for last-minute illnesses, work conflicts, personal emergencies, or other situations beyond your control. However, you are welcome to send someone in your place if you can no longer attend.

If you're purchasing this class or event as a gift, please make sure the recipient is aware of this policy, as it still applies.

Credits issued for La Scuola events can only be used toward future La Scuola events and cannot be applied toward other Eataly events, store purchases, or Eataly gift cards.
