- **Event Description**: Hello friends! The gazebo needs to be danced in! It’s too beautiful of a venue not to have tango in it. 

So I am planning one more milonga before I leave again. Music will be 50% traditional, 50% alternative. 

Thursday is old MIT Practica time so maybe it will work well! It’s hard for me to plan these milongas around visiting my family. 

The event is totally free, but I do not have the power to reserve the gazebo. If other people are using it we will go for food/drinks instead. I also cannot control the weather. While technically we can still dance in the rain, sometimes the homeless community uses the gazebo as shelter during bad weather. 


Code of Conduct: 

--No means no. 

--No harassment, whether verbal or physical. 

--Anyone can end a tanda at any time. No one is obligated to continue dancing with anyone.

--Be attentive to both verbal and non-verbal communication. In tango, choosing not to return someone's gaze is a valid way to say no to a dance. Respect it. If a partner seems to prefer open embrace, and expresses it by resisting being brought in close, respect that. If a follower does not do a gancho or leg wrap, it may be because she/he/they simply didn't want to. Respect that. 

--Refrain from dancing in a way that may cause injury to yourself, your partner, or to other people on the dance floor. If you want to do lifts or leader ganchos, it's a good idea to ask first, as these are generally moves that presume rather than invite, and have potential for injury. There is never any harm in asking before initiating any move in tango, whether as a leader or a follower. 

--No inappropriate touching or grinding (this is tango, not bachata). Never use your hands (outside of the embrace) to guide/force a partner into doing a move, unless you are frequent dance partners and have discussed these boundaries previously. 

--This is a milonga, not a practica, so no teaching on the dance floor. 

--If anyone does make you uncomfortable, please come tell me. I run this milonga casually when I happen to be in town, so I don't have a system for anonymous complaints, but I will try to create one soon.
