- **Event Description**: The Bossier Parish Community College Performing Arts Program and the Cavalier Players announce the cast and crew of the Broadway musical fantasy A Year with Frog and Toad. Performances will be held April 17-26 in the Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre in Building C on the BPCC campus, 6220 East Texas St. in Bossier City.  

Showtimes are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, April 17, 18, 24 and 25, with matinee performances on Saturdays and Sundays, April 18, 19, 25 and 26. The show is adapted from the books and stories of Arnold Lobel, with book and lyrics by Willie Reale and music by Robert Reale. 

Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, director of performing arts, serves as production and musical director for this whimsical, Tony Award-winning musical, which follows Lobel’s delightful characters, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad, as they journey through four fun-filled seasons. The two best friends celebrate and embrace the differences that make them unique. According to Music Theatre International, the production is “part vaudeville, part make believe, and all charm, with a jazzy, upbeat musical score. A Year with Frog and Toad bubbles with melody and wit, making it an inventive, exuberant, and enchanting musical for the entire family.” 

The faculty and staff production team includes David White, scenic and lighting director and technical director; Rona Leber, costume designer; Davi Cole, props designer; Lari Leber, choreographer; and Jim Boyter, front of house and box office manager. 

The student production team includes Cameron Jones, stage manager; Ellen Douglas, assistant stage manager and mic operator; and Kelsea Lee, music technician. 

Production artwork was designed by BPCC student Lea Harris. The production will also feature a team of student technicians supporting various aspects of the show. 

The cast includes Andy Thrasher as Frog and Saige Williams as Toad. The forest creatures are played by Ben Moss, Michael Calvaresi Jr., Maria Hernandez, Faith Robinson, Tamayia Jarvis, Lari Leber, Matthew Gedeon, MC Carpenter, Ellen Douglas, Daniel Johnson, Mystery Almond and Logan Pudak.

Tickets are $20. Reservations may be made online at bpcc.edu/theatre. For assistance, email theatre@bpcc.edu. The box office opens in person one hour before each performance. 

Season ticket memberships, which include two tickets to all four BPCC mainstage shows, are available during the run of this production for $60. The BPCC Theatre 2026-27 four-show season will be announced during the run of A Year with Frog and Toad.
