Meet at the Knobstone Trailhead parking lot (where Buzzard Roost shelter is located) 8:30 PM for a short walk to the dam, where a telescope will be set up to observe the moon just after it rises. For those who wish to also experience a guided night hike, we will continue across the dam into the dark woods for another mile where we will hope to hear owls and other late summer nighttime sounds of the deep woods. Please be sure to bring closed-toed shoes, water, and a red flashlight and/or headlamp.
