Elisha Wells Stroupe is the author of the book Desperate Farmwives, adapted from the blog of the same name.  Stroupe uses comedy  in her writing to work through the difficulties of farm life.  Stroupe lives in Armstrong, Missouri, on a farm with her husband and two boys, a bad dog, a good cat, and a lot of sheep and cattle.  Stroupe earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in writing from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, and a Master of Arts in education from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri.  After teaching for ten years, Stroupe decided to stay at home with her children, but quickly began a writing career developing her blog Desperate Farmwives, blogging for various businesses, and writing for publications such as Missouri Life magazine.
