We are excited to share that our next nonprofit board training session will take place Thursday, December 11th at 6:00 PM. This session will focus on board member retention, board member development, and best practices for cultivating a strong and effective nonprofit board.
We are pleased to have Katie Hentges leading this training. Katie is a nonprofit leader with more than 18 years of experience strengthening organizations, building sustainable systems, and driving mission-focused impact. She currently serves as Executive Director of both the Bondurant Chamber of Commerce and the Iowa Board of Certification, where she oversees operations, strategic planning, community engagement, credentialing standards, and statewide member services.
Throughout her career, Katie has specialized in building organizational infrastructure, elevating community programs, and cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and funders. Her background includes extensive work in program development, team leadership, event planning, marketing, grant writing and reporting, and operational management.
Before her current roles, Katie served as the Director of Operations and Chief of Staff at the Iowa Center for Economic Success, advancing statewide entrepreneurship initiatives and nonprofit stability. Her experience also includes supporting vulnerable populations through Des Moines Public Schools, operating a small business, and leading communications for the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research.
Katie holds a degree in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University. A lifelong Des Moines resident, she recently moved back into her childhood home with her husband, two sons, and their pack of pets.
