Holiday Porch Pots

Celebrate the season with nature’s beauty! 🌿 Join the Brunswick County Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create a Holiday Porch Pot brimming with fresh greenery and festive embellishments—perfect for your front porch, entryway, or patio.

Bring your favorite container—perhaps the one that held colorful blooms this summer—and give it a new winter purpose! We will supply the greenery - most of it harvested right from the Brunswick County Botanical Gardens, including Magnolia leaves, Loblolly Pine, Wax Myrtle, Cryptomeria, and sprigs of Holly with bright red berries. Add pinecones, seed pods, and other accents to complete your one-of-a-kind design.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer guidance, design tips, and inspiration. You will also have a chance to tour the Botanical Garden to see where the greenery grows and gather ideas for your own landscape.

• A container (could be anything! a basket, planter pot, bucket, or upcycled favorite. see pictures for ideas on size and shapes)
• Gloves, small clippers, and a smock or apron
• Comfortable closed-toe shoes, hat, and sunblock

The workshop will take place outdoors—please dress for the weather. In case of rain, we’ll move to the hoop house or under a large awning.
