We'll be taking time to appreciate the winter landscape and observe various bird behaviors throughout our walk.Kathryn Albertson Park is a 41-acre special use park located near downtown Boise, and is part of the Idaho Birding Trail. A haven for wildlife and quiet contemplation, the park features wide, paved paths and outdoor gazebos in a beautiful natural setting. The most common summer birds here are songbirds, geese, ducks, kingfishers, and herons.Recently reported species can be seen here: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L212900Accessibility: This field trip is along paths at Kathryn Albertson Park that are paved and ADA accessible, and may be suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. It may be accessible for those with blind and/or low vision, and there will be opportunities for birding by ear. This field trip was created with inclusion and accessibility for those with disabilities in mind. Everyone is welcome to join us!Birding Skill Level: All levels are welcome! Binoculars will be available if needed.Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.Time: 8:00am - 10:30am. Check-in time is at 7:50am. Please arrive at check-in so we can start on time. The planters at the Kathryn Albertson Park central entrance, near the parking lot. (Click on "Meeting Place" to get directions from your location.)What to Bring: Layers for weather, sun protection, comfortable shoes, binoculars, and water. A spotting scope will be available for the group to share, but please feel free to bring your own. No dogs please.Restroom Availability: Vault restrooms are available in the parking lot and in the park.Inclement Weather: If there is an unhealthy AQI, steady precipitation forecast, or the trails are not suitable for ethical passage, the trip may be cancelled.Contact Information: Please text trip leader Jordan at 208-391-8338 with any questions.Cancellation Policy: If your plans change, please cancel your ticket on Eventbrite or contact the field trip leader listed above.
