That's Dustin. He is the kind of person who quietly puts others first, always shows up when you need him, and somehow manages to make everyone around him feel welcome. So we are hosting a fundraiser at The Joy Sister’s House on August 29th from 7-10 pm because here in the Boise music community we support our own, and this is our chance to give back to Dustin for all the joy and healing he has brought to us through his music and massage! DM Dustin or Alyssa for the address. In early November 2025, Dustin was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage II pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Scans revealed a 3.6 cm tumor in the head of his pancreas, and treatment began immediately. The last 9–10 months have been incredibly challenging. Dustin has completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 rounds of radiation. His medical team has been as aggressive as possible with treatment, pushing his body to the maximum it can safely tolerate. The good news is that the tumor has shrunk, but it remains attached to several major arteries and veins, making the next step especially complex. In mid-September, Dustin will undergo a 10-hour surgery at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The procedure will involve not only removing the tumor but also reconstructing affected blood vessels. Dustin lives in Boise and will be traveling to Houston for the operation and recovery. Throughout treatment, Dustin has continued training in martial arts and has worked four days a week as a massage therapist whenever his health has allowed. Following surgery, however, he is expected to be unable to work for up to 3–4 months while he focuses on healing. Your support will help ease the financial burden during this time by helping cover: * Rent, utilities, and internet * Groceries and everyday living expenses * Medical bills, medications, and ongoing treatment costs * Travel expenses to and from Houston (Flights, Lodging, Meals) If you've ever shared a stage with Dustin, received one of his massages, trained beside him, or simply had the privilege of knowing him, you've experienced the generosity, humility, and kindness he brings into the lives of everyone around him. He has spent his life giving so much of himself to others—through music, through healing, and through genuine friendship. Now it's our turn to give a little of that back.
