Turn your perspective upside down—literally and figuratively—in this focused workshop exploring Śīrṣāsana (Headstand) through the precise, alignment-based lens of Iyengar Yoga.
Headstand is a transformative pose that builds strength, concentration, and confidence. But without stability and structure, it may also lead to imbalance or injury. This workshop will guide you progressively and safely into Headstand (Sirsasana) postures, emphasizing:
- Alignment, sequencing, and support using props
- Developing strength in the shoulders, arms, and core
- Cultivating balance through breath and focused awareness
- Safe entry, exit, and variations of Śīrṣāsana, Adho Mukha - Vṛkṣāsana (Handstand), and Sarvāṅgāsana (Shoulderstand)
- Modifications and alternatives for all levels
Whether you are working toward your first headstand or refining an established inversion practice, you’ll leave with greater understanding, confidence, and respect for the transformative power of going upside down.
Open to students with a minimum of 6 months yoga experience. Not recommended for those with neck injuries or high blood pressure unless practicing under medical supervision.
