Who is a Harvest Hero?Harvest Heroes are Military Veterans, spouses, family members & supporters working together to:• Learn and practice urban agriculture on a community farm• Feed their families and their community in need• Develop small farm and food entrepreneurial skills & ideas• Share the benefits of horticultural therapy with other veteransThis event is FREE.No experience required, only an interest in growing food and connecting with other veterans to feed our community.About the site: Spaulding Ranch is a 20 acre historic farm property owned by the city of Boise for the purpose of preserving agricultural land, history and future educational opportunities. Thanks to an agreement between University of Idaho Extension and the City of Boise, the Harvest Heroes Veteran’s Urban Teaching and Incubation Farm will have a home at Spaulding Ranch.Funding for Harvest Heroes was made possible by a grant/cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement.
