Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Join us for an hour of singing and dancing and playing!
Wear clothing that you can move in and that you feel comfortable in. We are all about feeling our best to combat any nerves at auditions.
Prepare to sing! Bring us a song that you feel awesome singing. A bluetooth speaker will be available for accompaniment. Do not bring sheet music. Or do, but no one will play it ;) (I mean, Shannon might try to, but only has her bagpipe to play it on….the choice is really up to you.)
Straight up — don’t sing Hamilton or Wicked. Those are great musicals — but even if you are Idina Menzel herself waltzing in — 1. You’re too old for a Jr show, please go back to Broadway, thanks; and 2. We have over 100 years of musical theater to choose from — try something new!
But for realsies, sing something that makes you feel awesome, for 60-90 seconds.
Call backs will be held Sunday, May 3rd after 3pm. You will receive a call or email requesting you to be at call backs. Just because you don’t get a call back doesn’t mean you won’t be cast. It also doesn’t mean you *will* be cast.
The cast will be announced within a week of auditions.
Rehearsals will start Monday, May 11th. Rehearsals will usually be held 6-8pm four days a week until we get closer to opening.
Show dates are July 17, 18, 23, 24 at 730pm and July 19 and 25 at 2pm. Preview Night is July 16 at 730pm. Tech will start Monday July 6th until opening and is mandatory.
