We are grateful for donations made "at the door" or on our website.**: https://www.boisestate.edu/ibo/science/river/ **Intermountain Bird Observatory's trained biologists will be catching, banding, and releasing wild songbirds all morning as part of our breeding season monitoring protocol.Stay for the whole event or drop in any time during the morning to visit our station. We recommend you stay at least an hour to have the best chance of seeing some birds. It's a good idea to arrive near start time on hot days since bird activity decreases as the day heats up. We may close our nets as early as 10am if it's a very hot day.Registration is limited to 50 participants. We will use a waitlist system to notify you if a slot becomes available. If you cannot attend, please be courteous and cancel so that someone else can use your slot.This project is fueled by from visitors like you. Thank you! After birds are processed we will bring them outside the staff area for you to observe more closely.Please follow all rules and signage posted to ensure we are able to continue to offer these visitor opportunities.Bird banding is unpredictable. We cannot promise that we will catch birds, but hope that everyone has the opportunity to see a bird be banded. Depending on how many birds we catch, visitors will be able to help release the birds by holding out their hand as a release platform.We may close our nets early or not open the station if the weather is bad (too windy, rainy, hot, or cold).
