Over four weeks, you'll learn the beautiful foundations of Raks Sharki (Arabic-style belly dance) in a relaxed, supportive environment. We'll explore graceful arm movements, hip techniques, shimmies, posture, traveling steps, and fun dance combinations while enjoying beautiful music from across the Middle East and beyond.

No dance experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to have fun.

Whether you're looking for gentle exercise, a creative outlet, greater confidence, new friendships, or simply something joyful to look forward to each week, this class is for you.

This class is one of the three required 101-level foundation courses in the Starbelly School of Dance curriculum. Together, these courses introduce the essential movements, rhythms, and styles of belly dance and prepare students for the 200-level courses.
