Classical guitar concert by Gary Ryan

West Sussex Guitar Club would like to invite all music enthusiasts to our forthcoming recital by Gary Ryan. Gary is a leading exponent of the classical guitar ; as a performer, educator, adjudicator, arranger and innovative composer.

His gift of a 'good ear' for capturing lyrical folk melodies and inventive reworking of their musical themes and rhythms has produced numerous compositions that stir the imagination of students of all ages. The landscapes and folklore of differing cultures throughout the world come to life in his recitals with his use of the guitar both as a stringed and percussive instrument.

His contribution to the promotion and development of the guitar culminated with his recent appointment as Head of Strings at the Royal College of Music in May 2024.
