Alice By Heart

It is 1941 during the London Blitz of World War II. The life of teen Alice Spencer is disrupted, as she and her best friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in a London Underground Tube station. Alfred is suffering from Tuberculosis and is quarantined but Alice is determined to be with him so that she can read their cherished and favourite story, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and to journey down the rabbit hole to the ‘Wonderland’ of the imagination. Nurse Cross, who is in charge, rips up Alice’s book as punishment for visiting Alfred by Alice declares that she knows the story ‘by heart’ and continues to tell Alfred the story

As they travel through the tale, Alice by Heart explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. This musical is about the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times and landscapes.

This powerful and poignant story is brought to you by the wonderful Musical Theatre Triple Threat students - their inaugural show as they enter into their second year of their training.
