United Way's Day of Caring and Campaign Kick Off Breakfast
Join the largest one-day community service event in the county on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 to give back and to celebrate our Campaign Kick off breakfast! Event starts at 7:30 am at the new Boaz Parks and Recreation Center (400 Elizabeth Street Boaz, AL).
In 2020, we were unable to hold this amazing event in person due to COVID, so there is a lot of ground to cover this year to make up for hands-on projects that were postponed. The last Day of Caring in-person event held in 2019 brought together over 500 volunteers from across the county to help with projects. These included assisting senior citizens with home related repairs and improvements, building wheelchair ramps, reading to children, collecting office supplies, participating in local food pantries and delivering hot meals.
Why get involved?
Day of Caring is THE day to give back to various nonprofits in our community, there’s a great project waiting for you. Each one of us CAN and DOES make a difference when we reach out a helping hand in our community. There are over 80 volunteer projects available, including planting flowers, mulching, painting, organizing, and sorting donations for some amazing nonprofit agencies in Marshall County!
Volunteers are invited to register individually or as groups. Companies, clubs and organizations are invited and encouraged to participate together. What better way to showcase an organization’s volunteer spirit while making a difference, improving employee morale and enthusiasm through team building and connecting individuals to their community and coworkers.
If you are unable to participate in this wonderful community service event but still want to help, consider holding a CASUAL DAY at your place of business.
