Holiday Crafts Workshop
The Big Red Barn Retreat will have a Holiday Crafts workshop this December in Blythewood. The workshop will be held at 8024 Winnsboro Road on Saturday, December 14th from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Active duty service members, veterans and their family are encouraged to wear their tackiest sweaters and join the group for festive conversation and refreshments as we create household decorations for the season.
The holiday season is a time rich with tradition and full of nostalgia. However, it can be a difficult time for veterans and active duty service members either dealing with PTSD or dealing with the loneliness of being away from family members during a traditionally family centric holiday.
“The holidays can sometimes be tough, especially for veterans” says Sutton Shaw, Executive Director of the Big Red Barn Retreat “So having a holiday themed workshop will hopefully put everyone in the holiday spirit.”
Jim Dukes, Director of Healing Arts, expands further “It's the holiday season, so let's gather and celebrate as a group, while making a variety of fun holiday decorations.”
For more information, or to reserve a spot for this workshop, please email Jim Dukes at amltZHVrZXM3MSB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t since space is limited to 20 people. All materials will be provided.
