His role there was playing clarinet, violin and piano. Nick's main instrument was the piano which he studied with John Barstow from the Royal College of music. During this period Nick also performed Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ on numerous occasions.After leaving the army in 1985, Nick attended the Colchester Institute studying piano with Robert Bell, a former Gold Medal winner at the Guildhall School of Music. Nick was a member of several chamber groups, performing works such as the Schumann Piano Quintet, Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart and Khachaturian piano trios. On graduating college with a BA (Hons) in music he became a music teacher at Stamford School in Lincolnshire until his retirement.Nick has performed many different piano concertos with orchestras around the country: Tchaikowsky B flat minor, Rachmaninoff Concertos 2 and 3, Beethoven Op 37 No. 3, Op 58, No. 4, and the triple concerto Op. 56, Mozart D minor (K466), Bb major (K456) and A major K488, Grieg and Schumann A minor Piano Concertos, Mendelssohn 2nd Concerto, Gershwin F minor Concerto and smaller scale works such as the Litolf Scherzo, J. S. Bach Brandenburg concertosand his own Piano Rhapsody.As a soloist, Nick has performed numerous piano recitals around the country, including works from all genres and musical periods, with a strong passion for the romantic period. His role as an accompanist has covered many years of varied and challenging repertoire.Nick has a particular love for composing his own music focusing mainly on orchestral music, much of which has been performed by various orchestras around the country, sometimes with Nick himself as the conductor.Nick teaches piano and violin at Yamaha Northumberland.Ronojit Bhuyan BiographyRonojit Bhuyan is a Concert Pianist residing in London. He has recently achieved aMasters of Music in Piano Performance with Distinction, studying under the guidance ofGabriele Baldocci and Mikhail Kazakevich at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music andDance. Currently, Ronojit is enrolled in a one-year Artist Diploma program at TrinityLaban, which will serve as preparation for his PhD studies commencing in 2025. He isgrateful to the Udmi Devi Trust and Trinity College London Scholarship for their kindpatronage towards his studies for the years 2022-2025.He has achieved notable recognition, winning the John Halford competition andsecuring second place in the Gladys Puttick competition for improvisation in 2023 atTrinity Laban. Since commencing his studies in London in September 2022, Ronojit hasperformed in over 50 solo and chamber concerts at various prestigious venuesthroughout the UK, including St. James’s Piccadilly, the Polish Club, Kensington, theLansdowne Club in Mayfair for the Bluthner Piano Series, the Nehru Centre in London,Buckingham Gate Suites, The Royal St. Katharine, and the Edinburgh Society ofMusicians. Additionally, he was the winner of the Brillante Piano Festival and a finalistin the Conbrio Piano competition in Mumbai in 2020. During the lockdown period,Ronojit and his mother, Violinist Sunita Bhuyan, delivered more than 85 online concertsfrom March 2020 to October 2021, featuring performances for platforms such as RollingStones India, Amazon, NDTV Live, Hungama Music Festival, Better India, and Stage ArtsLive.Education and ExperienceAfter successful completion of his undergraduate studies in Music from Trinity CollegeLondon (Diploma-LTCL) and Psychology from St. Xaviers, College, Mumbai, Ronojit hasbecome an active Pianist and accompanist. His experience includes playing on a varietyof Piano instruments /organs, harpsichord and church choir music. Ronojit hasperformed for several Masterclasses, some of the teachers include- Pascal Roge, CanCakmur, Martino Tirimo, Pervez Mody and Min Kwon.
