Aiden Nunley was a 19 year old, Bluffton High School graduate, who was taken suddenly from his family and friends on July 19th, 2024. His life tragically ended on Highway 116 from a devastating car crash. The Family of Aiden has decided to participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program in his loving memory. He was a young, loving, beautiful soul with a bright future ahead. This gentle giant 6'6" had a love of playing DnD, video games and worked hard for everything he had accomplished through his short life.
To continue his honor, his family and friends will be hosting their first Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up Day on November 22, 2025 from 12pm to 4pm(or until cleanup is finished). The family has adopted Highway 116 from N 100 W to N 300 W.
If you are interested in volunteering please message Clarissa, his mother, to help her prepare.
Details:
Highway 116 has NO PARKING. I suggest car pooling as much as possible to avoid too many vehicles in this rural area. I plan to park on N 200 W near Highway 116 as it has little traffic. Please make sure not to block any driveways or signs.
The accident occurred outside 2363 NW SR 116-90, Markle, IN. Please gather here at the beginning of the cleanup. I would like to take a moment of silence for him at the accident site before we begin.
All volunteers participating must sign individual waivers before the cleanup begins.
I will have supplies provided by the program that include safety vests, gloves and garbage bags. But feel free to bring any safety gear to assure the cleanup is safely done.
We will have two road signs advising traffic of our presence provided by INDOT.
Please avoid bringing any children that need supervision. This is a highspeed highway location with little space between us and the traffic that may be on the roadway that day.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
