- **Event Description**: BLUE GRASS, IA — The Blue Grass Community Center invites the community to celebrate the 80th annual Blue Grass Days, taking place Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026. This is a family-friendly festival brings together residents and visitors from across the Quad Cities region for two days of entertainment, tradition, and small-town charm.

Originally established in 1946 as a homecoming celebration honoring local soldiers returning from war, Blue Grass Days has grown into a beloved annual tradition that continues to bring the community together—80 years later.

Festivities kick off Friday, June 5 from 5:00–11:00 p.m., followed by a full day of activities on Saturday, June 6 from 12:00–11:00 p.m. Highlights of the weekend include live entertainment, food vendors, raffles, a kids zone, petting zoo, balloon artist, craft vendors and a fireworks display on Saturday evening.

The Blue Grass Days Parade will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. along North Mississippi Street, continuing a long-standing tradition that draws families and spectators from across the area.

Race participants can also take part in the weekend’s run event, with packet pickup scheduled for Thursday, June 4 from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at the Blue Grass Community Center.

“Celebrating 80 years of Blue Grass Days is incredibly special for our community,” said Heather Voss, Blue Grass Days organizer and President of the Blue Grass Community Center. “What started as a homecoming event has grown into a tradition that brings people together year after year. We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another great weekend.”
