Parkway Workday

Winter has arrived in the Blowing Rock section of the Blue Ridge Parkway—but our volunteer spirit is as strong as ever! When the weather allows, we’ll continue our weekly workdays, and we’d love for you to join us this Friday, December 12th at 10:00 AM.

We’ll be working on a section of the Tanawha Trail, meeting at the Cold Prong Overlook (Milepost 299). From there, we’ll hike to the Boone Fork Parking Area and carpool back to Cold Prong.

Our focus for the day will be trail maintenance as we hike. Please come dressed for Blowing Rock’s famously changeable weather. Supportive hiking shoes or boots are highly recommended. We’ll provide tools, gloves, guidance, and plenty of encouragement—just bring your own drink and a snack.

This is a great opportunity to support the Blue Ridge Parkway, help us finish important trail projects, and enjoy time outdoors with fellow volunteers. Bring a friend—everyone is welcome!
