Gather by 4:45 in front of The Exchange, Cafe Martha, Magic 5 Wine Bar, and Brewskis and mark this unique phenomenon, when astronomy and geography meet at the horizon. The weather this year looks promising -- cold and CLEAR.

This tradition began in 2022, and this year it again coincides with Downtown Bloomsburg's January First Friday.  Thanks to everyone who comes out to enjoy this celestial happening.

By an accident of geography, Bloomsburg's Main Street aims almost directly at the sunset close to the winter solstice.  This means that the summer solstice sunRISE happens in exactly the opposite direction, but College Hill -- location of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania -- obstructs that view from down here; we may need to arrange a visit to the top of Soltz Hall for the sunrise on June 21st to fully appreciate it!
