- **Event Description**: Join us to explore embodied writing. This workshop will weave between moving, reflection and creative writing prompts.
Utam Moses will guide movement explorations to awaken sensation, memory and imagination. Poets Grace Jewell and Kourtney Jones will offer writing explorations to hone your creative voice. We will explore the relationship between language and the body and stone as a symbolic metaphor. We will also weave the relationship between water and stone.

No experience necessary, just curiosity and creativity!

This series emerged out of Utam's performance last year, Ordinary Pilgrimage, which explored the psychology of place and relationship around Bloomington's Courthouse Square. We will start with limestone, which Utam gathered during a visit to a local quarry, after meeting the family who owned the quarry. Limestone will be one fodder for exploration. Stone holds a particular resonance, we set things in stone, we mark death with stone, hearts become stone. We will see what emerges when we bring the delicacy of bodies in relationship to the hard matter and deep time of limestone.
Sunday June 21 11:15-12:45.  We will have an optional park exploration after the workshop, weather permitting, in a greenspace near Windfall.
