Tuesday KIZZ 5-Week Kizomba & Urban Kiz Session

Join the Tuesday KIZZ team for a special 5-week Kizomba and Urban Kiz session to close out the year! This round will be less progressive and more open-format—perfect for dancers who already have a foundation in Kizomba or Urban Kiz and want to strengthen their technique, test their understanding, and continue developing consistency before the new cycle begins in the new year.

About the Dances:
Kizomba and Semba are cultural partner dances from Angola, Africa. The word “Kizomba” means “party” in Kimbundu and originates from Semba—the joyful, expressive dance that inspired it. Both styles emphasize grounded movement, circular patterns, and deep partner connection. The music blends percussion, instrumentals, and vocals, creating a warm, rhythmic flow that makes every dance a conversation through motion.

Class Schedule:
7:30 PM – 8:30 PM | Urban Kiz Routines (Improvers Level)
This class is designed for dancers with prior Kizomba experience who are ready to explore Urban Kiz in more depth. Each week, we’ll work through short, routine-based sequences focusing on technique, transitions, and musical interpretation. Great for dancers looking to sharpen their flow, styling, and lead-follow awareness.

8:45 PM – 9:45 PM | Kizomba Improvers (Open Format)
This class will explore intermediate-level Kizomba concepts, focusing on partner connection, timing, and creative variations. Expect a blend of technique, musicality, and styling that reinforces your fundamentals while pushing your confidence and control on the dance floor.

8:45 PM – 9:45 PM | Beginner Kizomba (Introductory Track)
For brand-new dancers, this open-level class will introduce the essence of Kizomba—connection, grounding, and body flow. It’s the perfect place to start your journey before joining a full progressive cycle in the new year.

9:45 PM – 11:00 PM | Social Dance Practice
Stay after class to dance, connect, and enjoy the music in a relaxed, supportive environment. It’s a great opportunity to put your new skills into practice and build community.

Note:
This 5-week session will not follow our usual progressive cycle format and cycle pricing will not apply. The new full 8-week cycle will begin in the new year, so this is your chance to stay active, grow your skills, and close the year strong with the Tuesday KIZZ family.

All levels welcome: Our cycle is crafted to accommodate everyone, from beginners to experienced dancers, building up skills progressively each week.

New to Kizomba? Starting with our beginner class is recommended for a smooth experience.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start of class to check Highly encourage bringing shoes with bottoms that will allow you to slide easily across hardwood floor. Suede bottom dance shoes, heels or flats without rubber bottoms. Sneakers not advised.
