At AllEvents, we are constantly evolving, adapting, and innovating to ensure event explorers and organizers get the best possible experience. Recently, our co-founder and CEO, Amit Panchal, shared his journey and valuable insights on the Impact Stories podcast. From navigating challenges in the event industry to bootstrapping a successful global platform, Amit’s conversation offered a deep dive into the strategies that have shaped AllEvents.

The Evolution of Event Discovery Platforms

One of the key lessons Amit shared was the importance of having multiple revenue sources for event discovery platforms. He explained that depending on a single income stream—such as ticket sales or ads—can make a business vulnerable to market fluctuations. Instead, platforms like AllEvents focus on multiple revenue sources, including featured event listings, targeted promotions, and strategic partnerships. By offering organizers different ways to boost their event visibility, AllEvents not only helps them attract more attendees but also creates a more sustainable business model that isn’t reliant on just one revenue channel.

Event discovery isn’t just about listing events—it’s about creating a network where users can discover experiences relevant to them effortlessly. By focusing on accessibility and engagement, event discovery platforms can make a significant impact.

An Entrepreneurial Journey Rooted in Problem-Solving

Amit’s entrepreneurial journey didn’t start with events—it began with Jagteraho, a networking and communication solution for students in his college,  during his college years. After college, he learned the importance of things like networking and data-driven decision-making while programming for different clients.

But networking played an even bigger role in the growth of AllEvents. Attending business meetups in Ahmedabad helped build connections, gain new clients, and refine strategies. These interactions ultimately led to the shift from IT services to a dedicated event discovery platform, which quickly gained traction among event organizers and attendees.

Bootstrapping a Profitable Business Without External Funding

One of the biggest decisions in AllEvents’ journey was whether to seek external funding. After careful consideration, Amit and the team decided to remain independent and profitable, choosing to bootstrap rather than accept investment under unfavorable terms.

This decision led to a focus on sustainable revenue models, including:
✔️Ad monetization, which started generating revenue within the first month.
✔️Featured listings, allowing event organizers to boost event visibility.

By prioritizing organic growth and financial sustainability, AllEvents has continued to scale while staying true to its mission.

Enhancing User Experience Through Smart Event Discovery & Ticketing

Over the years, AllEvents has evolved from a simple event listing site to an event discovery platform with a ticketing solution. The goal? To ensure users find the most happening events around them.

Amit highlighted a key turning point: In 2016, AllEvents introduced ticketing services, making it easier for users to purchase tickets directly through the platform. The emphasis was never on maximizing profit from ticketing but rather on improving the user experience to ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience.

Challenges & Innovations in the Ticketing Business

Building a ticketing platform comes with challenges. Competition is fierce, and event organizers often prefer established platforms due to concerns about security and reliability.

However, AllEvents tackled this by:
✔️Focusing on event discovery first, ensuring users engaged with events before introducing ticketing.
✔️Providing cost-effective solutions to attract organizers.
✔️Innovating during tough times, such as during the pandemic, when the platform adapted to the changing event trends and introduced online events.

By continuously refining its approach, AllEvents has positioned itself as a trusted ticketing and discovery platform for event organizers worldwide.

The Power of a Lean, Tech-Driven Team

Another critical takeaway from the podcast was the mindset behind building a lean, efficient company. AllEvents prioritizes product innovation over operational heaviness, allowing a small but highly skilled team to take on large-scale projects.

Key lessons in company culture:
✔️Ownership mindset matters – Employees are encouraged to take full responsibility for their work.
✔️A positive work environment fuels growth – Mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, not setbacks.
✔️Flexibility and innovation drive success – A tech-driven approach keeps the company agile in a competitive space.

Final Thoughts: Innovation, Adaptability & Long-Term Success

Amit’s conversation on Impact Stories was a reflection of what makes AllEvents unique—our ability to innovate, adapt, and grow while remaining focused on providing value to event explorers and organizers.

From bootstrapping to profitability, from event discovery to ticketing, AllEvents has always been about creating seamless experiences.Listen to Amit’s full conversation on Impact Stories to dive deeper into the journey that brought us here! 🎙️
