Join the Hikers United team on Saturday 21st March as we journey the remote, unspoiled gem of Paria Bay. But instead of hiking, we'll be taking the relaxing easy way by boat!

Paria has always captured the imagination of hikers for its beauty, its remoteness - the deep and satisfying feeling of being 'away from it all'- its large and utterly refreshing waterfall, among its other features. The beach itself is rather long and features Lover's Rock to the western end, and the river outlet for the waterfall at the eastern end. The white sand and soothing roaring of the waves making walking along the beach a surreal experience.

We begin our journey by boarding the boat in the sleepy village of Blanchisseuse and setting out on a 20-25 minute boat ride at sea. Once we arrive at the beach and disembark, we will be spending an hour at the beach to bathe and relax before hiking inland for about 20-25 minute to visit the waterfall. After about an hour or two there, we will return to the beach to relax some more until about 2:30pm when we will take our return journey by boat to Blanchisseuse to complete our trip.

Refreshments will be provided in the form of sandwiches, snacks, fruits and water, but we urge you to pack extra food for yourself. It tends to get very hot at the beach so pack extra water as well. 

Be sure to bring your swimwear if you intend to bathe and pack a change of clothes for after the trip. Life vests will be provided for all patrons. Please pack sunblock and/or an umbrella as well as the UV index tends to be high. A beach spread will also be useful for relaxing on the sand.

As a sidenote, delicious and refreshing coconut water is sometimes on sale ($10) by a gentleman who lives on the beach. Bring extra cash if you would like to partake.
