- **Event Description**: Join us for a fun and relaxed workshop where young LGBTQIA+ folks can get creative and express themselves through creating with clayAbout this EventExpress Yourself at Young Queer Craft ClubCome join us in person for a fun and creative session where you can express yourself creating things with clayWhat we're doingThis informal, friendly hand-building workshop is all about getting creative, having a good time and experimenting with clay.What will I do?Handbuilding techniques allow you to use your hands to create forms with clay. You'll be able to learn or improve your hand-building techniques, like pinching, slab rolling/building and coiling. We will show you these techniques and guide you through the whole process. You'll be able to to make your own bowls, plates, vases, decorations and much more.You can also leave your clay piece with us for drying and firing in the kiln. This can take up to 3 weeks. Then you can collect your piece and take it home.We'll supplyAll materials and tuitionHot/cold drinks and tasty snacksPronoun badgesAbout Young Queer Craft ClubA group for young people aged 14-18yrs who identify under the queer and trans (LGBTQIA+) umbrella, enjoy yummy snacks and a fun relaxed creative craft session!It's a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ young people, run by experienced, compassionate youth workers.ACCESSImportant physical access info:Please note that this session is upstairs. We are in the final stages of installing a lift, which should be completed by May. The event space is up a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park.These sessions are supported by Know Your Neighbourhood funding from Historic England.
