A seaside town we all adore. On the brink of being washed away.

Join us this summer for The Land Beneath Our Feet, a powerful one-man play written and performed by acclaimed poet and writer Nathan Parker. The tale shares real life stories from Blackpool residents about community, climate change, grief, belonging, and the quiet resilience found in community gardens.

Before travelling to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, this moving production will tour outdoor spaces across Blackpool for a special series of free performances.

Commissioned by LeftCoast, and produced and directed by Karen Metcalfe in association with Blackpool Grand Theatre, the play imagines Blackpool in 2050 as rising tides threaten to consume the town we know and love.

At the centre of the story is Ted: an old-timer, storyteller, and gardener whose memories are funny, fragile, fiercely northern, and deeply human.

Through real conversations gathered with local residents during Nathan Parker’s Right to Grow residency, The Land Beneath Our Feet explores why green spaces matter - not as luxuries, but as lifelines.
