Each month we will take on a different project, in a friendly and welcoming environment.In our May session Suzanne Pinder will be leading the group. She will teach us about decorating and repairing fabric using the Japanese art of Sashiko.We will learnAbout the embroidery technique SashikoHow it is used in Japan to decorate and repair fabricTo use simple embroidery stitches to join layers of fabricTo repair or decorate our own piecesThis is a quiet, calm and relaxing session where you will learn to make something beautiful.No previous experience of embroidery is needed for this session. What's included?All equipment and materialsLight refreshmentsThings to noteIf you would like more information about the space, please head to the websiteEach session is made up of a new group of participants, rather than a fixed groupAbout SuzanneSuzanne has a degree in Fine Art. She has been involved with Blackpool Tiggers, a charity that supports families living with Autism, for twenty years. She has been a printmaker for 9 years, attending Hot Bed Press in Salford, specialising in etching, monoprint, letterpress and bookbinding. Since retiring Suzanne has started studying for an HNC in Fashion, Textiles and Costume at Blackpool and the Fylde College.
